Senator Baucus Participates in RMF Meetings


Montana's senior U.S. Senator attended a series of public open-houses in August 2011 organized by Montanans who want to keep the Rocky Mountain Front the way it is.  

Max Baucus accepted an invitation to hear from Montanans about the Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act on Tuesday the 9th.   Members of the Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front prestented and solicited public feedback on their proposal in Helena, Augusta and Great Falls on Thursday the 11th and Choteau on Friday the 12th.

Roughly 500 Montanans attended these meetings and the majority spoke in favor of the Heritage Act.  The Heritage Act has been custom-tailored by ranchers, sportsmen, private landowners, and conservation groups to keep the Rocky Mountain Front the way it is.  Since 2009, the proposal has had eight public meetings and been revised multiple times based on public input.  Below find a video link of the meetings:
